In a wonderful moment for the Afghan community in Washington State, Kabul Washington Association hosted the first poetry event in WA, lovingly named "Aawaye Bahar" or "Arrival of Spring." Afghan community members gathered to share in the joy of Afghan culture. With violins playing softly in the background, poets took turns sharing their heartfelt verses, painting pictures of love, hope, and resilience. Laughter and applause filled the room as stories were told and connections were made. As "Aawaye Bahar" drew to a close, the warm thankfulness expressed by each person reminded us of the beauty of coming together to celebrate our shared heritage and community.
